The gallery was built in 1605 and the first collection was created in 1607. There are many unique masterpieces of art: sculptures by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, paintings by Caravaggio, Raphael, Titian and many others famous and priceless works of art. But one of the most famous is the Canova's "Paolina Bonaparte in the guise of a victorious Venus", the sculpture depicts the sister of Napoleon and became the symbol of Galleria Borghese.
